Here is what I’ve started with to monetize my site. What follows is what I’m going to do to actually make money with this. Expect this information to change, be added to, be ever evolving…

First I’m going to start off with this, yes this, the actual writing you are at this very moment reading. This is the very first thing I know I need to do in order to make money with this blog - provide content! With resounding confidence I tell you this; If I provide decent, useful, and fresh content (daily if possible), this blog will become successful. If you apply this to your blog to you are also on the right track to success.

Now, I can only hope that what you are reading is actually entertaining (and with practice, it should become more so), but I can do my research to make sure it’s at least informative and accurate. So with that, I’m off to do some research. I have made some money producing free content websites already and have a good foundation to start with so this shouldn’t be much trouble.

From past experience I do know right of hand I can provide content to you for free and still make money two ways: Through affiliate programs, and contextual ad severing programs. That basis of knowledge is what I am starting with.

. As you can tell from the link above, I’ve implemented Google AdSense ads. This is contextual advertising - the ad itself is automatically based on the text that appears on the page it is placed on. This results in ads that are relevant to the particular page they’re on, and hopefully in turn, results in a higher click through rate and more profit. We’ll see!
