Social Bookmark Site Mega Submitter - Social Poster!
The best way to social bookmark your blog posts
I’ve done a few posts on the importance of social bookmarking services such a Digg, del.icio.us, Stumble and so on. And I regularly get hundreds of visitors from these sites, so I can see first hand how they really do drive traffic to your blog,
Yesterday I found a site that will help you bookmark your articles to over 60 social bookmarking services. It’s awesome, it’s easy, it’s Socialposter.com.
You can select from the services you want to submit to, see their individual Alexa and Google page ranks, and whether or not they apply the nofollow attribute the their links.
It’s really simple to use, but I do have to say it takes a LONG TIME to first get things up and running. Mostly due to the time required to actually sign up on over 50 bookmarking services.
I say over 50 (there are exactly 69, dude) because not all of the bookmarking services are really worth wasting your time on, specifically: EmoDrama.com (unless you’re blogging about Emo Dramma I guess), TeenWag.com (unless your blog is teen related), and Pixelmo.com (video game related). Additionally, several seemed to be having issues and couldn’t be viewed.
I spent a couple hours last night signing up for as many of the bookmarking services as I could. I actually did while in the process of submitting one of my posts (I was signed up for about ten of then in the first place). As I went through the posting process if I came to a site that I had no account on I would sign up. To make things a little quicker, if the sign-up process required me to verify the account via email (most do), I just signed up on and kept going, opting to wait until today to finish registration and submitting. Due to this, I didn’t really get to submit my post to nearly as many sites as I could of (and did today).
Getting Prepared
The actual submission process is relatively painless, but to start I would write down this info for your particular submission: URL,Title, Text (description), and Tags (keywords). And by write down I mean enter it into Notpad, Word, etc. so you can cut and paste it later. To make things a little easier on yourself and speed up the process I would also suggestyou take your Tags (keywords, all sepperated by commas “,”), copy them and then past them on a new page, or a few lines down on the same page. Use the replace text tool and replace all your commas with blank spaces. I suggest this because some sites (most) like comma separated tags, others, no commas. And remember to keep your tag relevant and don’t over do it. Ten or so is a good number.
Now - Submit!
Now that you’re all organized you’re ready to start submitting and creating some love for your posts. Just go to: Socialposter.com and copy in the info you’ve prepared in the step above (use the comma operated tags to start) in the appropriate fields . Now you have to choose how you want to submit - you have two options; “generate links to submit”, or “start fast submit in frame”. I prefer the fast submit in frame as you can go through the whole process in one window and don’t have to open 50+ tabs/windows/etc. by clicking on each submit link.
Wasn’t that easy?…
That’s pretty much it. You may want to do what I did and use the first time through to get signed up with all the services, and really start bookmarking like a mad man on your second time around… But that’s entirely up to you.
And just FYI - I’ve been getting around 15 visits per hour from these sites since I bookmarked my last post this morning… Not too shabby if you ask me, and at the end of the month this may equate to 10,000+ extra visitors I wouldn’t of had before! (I’ve already received over 2000 hits from stumble this month alone).
TIP: I would suggest completely updating your profile on as many of these sites as you can (I plan on completely updating my profile in every singe one that has that option, so far I’ve done about 20 or so). This include your bio, picture, faves, etc… Be active in as many of the networks as you can! It will add TONS of credibility to your bookmarks and submissions. It will also help to keep you from being deleted and banned for being a SPAMMER. Not to worry, not all of them even have this option
.

You guys should use socialmarker.com instead. It’s all web-based and no wordpad needed.

Ty Hurd reply on March 9, 2008:
socialmarker.com is pretty much the same as socialposter.com, both are fully web based. I just suggest using notepad as some bookmarking sites take their data in different formats and the all-in-one form on both sites doesn’t always cut it.
If you prepare your info first, it make makes it all go a little quicker…
