.me domains launched today!

.me - a new TLD with sooo many possibilities

I JUST received a press release regarding the new .me Top Level Domain extensions. While the .com TLD is obviously the extension of choice, the new .me extension promises to offer plenty of creative uses.

I just did a search on domainmonster.com and was surprised to see some amazing names still available such as: secure.me, touch.me, brand.me, and a few other really good choices.

If you’re a domainer and are looking for a new opportunity to snatch up some URL’s that are bound to have some real value in the near future, here’s your chance.

Here’s the official press release I received:

Want.me, lookfor.me, Youcanhave.me - New ME Domain Launches Today

NEW YORK, May 13, 2008 — Mesh Digital’s Domainmonster.com com domain name registration brand today announced the availability of the all-new .me Domain Name. “One of only a few two-letter domain extensions worldwide and with a trillion fantastic uses, we are very sure .me is going to be incredibly popular,” commented Matt Mansell, Managing Director, Mesh Digital Limited.

Run by doMEn, Domainmonster.com is one of only a handful of officially and directly accredited registrars. With no eligibility requirements whatsoever, .me is wide open to everyone! No requirements to have particular content on your .me website, no requests to input your inside leg measurement to prove you’re eligible: absolutely nothing; .me is wide open for everyone to take advantage of!

Matt Mansell, commented further, “With so many great uses, the Domainmonster.com team are already more excited about .me than any other domain launch in our history.

Allabout.me, want.me, need.me, love.me or even you.me, the possibilities are endless and all with a fun domain name extension we’ve been waiting for! Maybe you just want to Domainmonster.me, email.me or even track.me! Either way, you can always contact.me at john@bell.me!”

Already available to pre-order at http://Domainmonster.com, applicants can start securing their .me domain name right now. Much like the recent .asia launch, the registry is running an auction process for the first public stage. More than one applicant and they will be auctioned off against each other. Applicants are being advised to apply earlier as the best names will likely be gone by general open registration.

The sooner you get to searching for the good names the better your chances of getting the valuable ones!!

I paid 98$ for Pizza.me at GoDaddy , but it`s still pending , it`s the land rush now , so there will be an auction before purchasing these “.me” domains that means your pay lets say 100$ for the registration , and after that all people that paid for “pizza.me” for example will take part to the auction. And the actual registration fee will be refunded to the ones that didn`t win the auction. It`s a bit complicated. :)>-
