How seemingly nothing can really be something
Today I received a solicitation to sponsor a contest. While that in itself isn’t a big deal or out of the ordinary, I have in fact sponsored a few contests before, it was the way in which the email to me was written that made me smile. It gave me such a feeling of accomplishment I just had to write a quick little post about it.
The author of this email, Richard, from the blog hedgeagainstspeculation.com was very flattering in his request and I don’t even think that was his intention. Here’s the first part of the email:
Hi, how are things?
I just wanted to give you a heads up that http://www.hedgeagainstspeculation.com is going to host a big contest in June but in order to make this contest big I’m looking for contest sponsors. So seeing as you’re one of the bigger and more popular blogs on the web, I was wondering if you’re interested.
Wow! “One of the bigger and more popular blogs on the web”?!? Seriously? Now I know I’m not really that big of a blog, yet. But it was just so nice to see that’s how some people may view me. I’ve worked really hard to get this blog to where it is and will continue to work hard until it really is one of the biggest and most popular blogs on the web. That’s my intention.
Richard, thanks man! You made my day!
It’s funny how the little things can be really be big things isn’t it? ![]()
Oh, and by the way, I am going to sponsor his contest but I guess you’ll just have to check out his blog to see what the prizes are going to be ![]()
If you liked this post,do me a favor and
Stumble it! Thanks!
